Xtep and 361 Degrees Report Growth Behind China's Running-Shoe Push

· Updated · fashion-sports

Xtep and 361 Degrees both reported higher revenue for 2025 while emphasizing professional running and international expansion. Their disclosures provide more reliable evidence of China’s running-shoe push than unsupported comparisons based on weight, plate design, or retail price alone.

Xtep reported RMB14.15 billion in 2025 revenue. 361 Degrees reported RMB11.1 billion, including growth in e-commerce and an international network of 1,253 points of sale.

Xtep keeps running at the center of its strategy

Xtep said 2025 revenue increased 4.2 percent and that overseas revenue nearly doubled. Cross-border e-commerce grew by more than 220 percent across Southeast Asian platforms, while the company opened its first overseas Xtep Running Club in Singapore and a flagship running store with a partner in Malaysia.

The company also highlighted the 160X 7.0 PRO worn by Feng Peiyou when he broke the Chinese national marathon record at the 2026 Tokyo Marathon. This is a current model reference from Xtep’s own results announcement, not a claim about an older product being newly released.

Saucony and Merrell have a regional relationship with Xtep

Xtep’s group portfolio includes the China operations of Saucony and Merrell. The relationship began through joint ventures with Wolverine Worldwide for mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Xtep later consolidated the joint venture interests and acquired 40 percent of Saucony’s intellectual property rights in China.

This does not mean Xtep globally owns every Saucony or Merrell business. Brand ownership, regional operating rights, and joint-venture control are different corporate relationships.

361 Degrees combines running with international events

361 Degrees reported that 2025 revenue increased 10.6 percent to RMB11.1 billion. Its annual report describes running and basketball as core professional categories and lists 1,253 international points of sale.

The company also displayed its Furious FUTURE2, Miro NUDE 2, and VENTUS racing shoes at the 2025 TRE running-industry event in the United States. Its international visibility extends beyond products: 361 Degrees is an official partner of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and a World Aquatics global partner for 2026 through 2029.

What international buyers should verify

Model names and availability vary by country. Before purchasing an imported running shoe, check the official regional product page, size chart, seller, return terms, and warranty. A racing shoe used by an elite athlete may not be the appropriate training shoe for every runner.

The site does not rank these shoes by performance because it has not conducted controlled wear testing. The verified comparison is between company focus, official product families, regional distribution, and event participation.

Why it matters

The strongest evidence for the international rise of Chinese running brands is not a single specification. It is the combination of current professional products, athlete results, official overseas sales channels, and sustained investment in running. Xtep and 361 Degrees now provide public evidence across all four areas.
