Anker Expands Solix Lineup with the Modular Solix Prime
· home-energy
Anker’s energy arm, Anker Solix, has been one of the quietest success stories in Chinese consumer electronics over the past three years. Its portable power stations already show up in millions of US households, sold through Amazon and Costco. The new Solix Prime platform is a more ambitious play: a modular home backup system designed to be installed semi-permanently, with 2 kWh stacking packs that scale up to 12 kWh for a typical suburban home.
Why it matters
The home backup market in the US is dominated by Tesla Powerwall and a handful of US brands. Anker is betting that the same playbook that worked for charging accessories (premium build, aggressive pricing, Amazon-first distribution) can translate to a category that is heavier on installation and service.
What is different
- Modular packs that can be added one at a time as budget allows.
- Bidirectional EV charging support arriving via a software update later in 2026, following the path BYD and others have taken.
- A 10-year warranty on the inverter, putting Anker on equal footing with the established players.
Pricing has not been announced yet, but Anker said it will undercut the Powerwall 3 on a dollar-per-kWh basis. The first units are expected to ship in Q3 2026, initially through Home Depot and direct-to-consumer.
