Zhiyun Releases the $249 Cinepeer Weebill 3E Compact Full-Frame Gimbal

· outdoor-gear

Zhiyun released the Cinepeer Weebill 3E, a $249 compact full-frame gimbal aimed at mirrorless shooters, with PetaPixel covering the launch on 2024-06-24. The Weebill 3E is part of Zhiyun’s Cinepeer sub-line, which targets buyers who want full-frame payload capacity at a lower price than the brand’s flagship Crane series.

A full-frame gimbal under $250

The Weebill 3E sits below the Weebill 3 in Zhiyun’s lineup, with a smaller body and a payload rated for full-frame mirrorless bodies and standard lenses. At $249, it undercuts most full-frame gimbals from DJI, which have set the price floor closer to $400 for similar payload.

PetaPixel’s launch coverage noted that the Weebill 3E keeps the basic controls and quick-release plate that buyers expect from Zhiyun, while cutting the body size enough to fit a smaller mirrorless kit. It is one of the cheaper full-frame gimbals on the market at launch.

Why it matters

The Weebill 3E is a continuation of Zhiyun’s push into the Cinepeer sub-line, which has been aimed at the same mid-market creator buyers that DJI’s RS series addresses. At $249, the gimbal reaches buyers who would previously have had to step down to a crop-sensor Zhiyun or step up to a more expensive DJI or Zhiyun flagship. For international buyers, the practical effect is that $249 is now the entry point for a full-frame Zhiyun gimbal.
