Zeekr Launches the 7X Mid-Size SUV with 800V Architecture

· automotive

Zeekr has launched the 7X, a mid-size SUV with an 800V electrical architecture, up to 705 km of CLTC range, and a starting price of 229,800 yuan (about $32,000). The 7X is the fourth model in Zeekr’s lineup after the 001, 009, and X, and the first to ship with the company’s new SEA-S platform, an evolution of the Sustainable Experience Architecture shared with Lynk & Co and Smart.

Why it matters

Zeekr has been one of the most ambitious Chinese EV brands since its founding in 2021, with a focus on the premium end of the market. The 7X is the brand’s most important launch yet: a mid-size SUV in the most competitive segment in China, where it competes head-on with the Tesla Model Y, Li Auto L7, and the Aito M7.

What is new

  • 800V architecture with 5C charging, allowing 10-80% charging in 10 minutes on a compatible charger.
  • 705 km CLTC range on the long-range battery, the longest of any mid-size Chinese SUV.
  • Zeekr AD 3.0 advanced driver assistance system with lidar-powered highway and city pilot.
  • A new air suspension option, a first for the brand outside the 001.

The 7X is available now in China, with deliveries starting in May 2026. Zeekr confirmed that a European launch will follow in Q4 2026, with the 7X positioned as a Tesla Model Y competitor at a roughly 10-15% lower price point.
