Vivo X200 Ultra Goes Big on Telephoto and ZEISS Optics
· smartphones
Vivo has launched the X200 Ultra in China, the most ambitious imaging phone in the X-series to date. The headline feature is a 200-megapixel APO telephoto with a periscope design, paired with a 50-megapixel main sensor co-developed with ZEISS and Vivo’s own V3+ imaging chip for on-device noise reduction and color science.
Why it matters
Vivo has been a quiet leader in mobile telephoto design since the X-series pushed periscope cameras into the mainstream. The X200 Ultra’s 200-megapixel telephoto is a step beyond: enough resolution to crop aggressively and still retain detail at long effective focal lengths. The V3+ chip is the third-generation of Vivo’s in-house imaging silicon, and the first to support on-device 4K cinematic blur in real time. International availability is expected in India and Southeast Asia first, with Europe following later in the year.
